Cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine – glycerin free. Cola®Teric CBS-HP is a glycerin-free amphoteric surfactant in the sultaine class. Cola®Teric CBS-HP exhibits outstanding surface activity, wetting, foaming, and compatibility in a wide variety of applications. Due to its amphoteric nature, Cola®Teric CBS-HP is compatible with cationic, anionic, and nonionic surfactants. The compatibility and stability of formulations containing Cola®Teric CBS-HP are maintained over a broad pH range.

Cola®Teric CBS-HP is free of processing aids and preservatives, allowing greater formulator flexibility for all type of cleansing formulations. Cola®Teric CBS-HP also displays greater hydrotroping properties than Betaines to deliver extra clarity in household and personal care formulas.

In formulating, effective use levels can range between 0.1% and 5.0%, depending upon the application. Colonial Monolaurin MB should be added to a formulation so that it does not receive severe heating for prolonged periods. Colonial Monolaurin MB can be dispersed in water and dissolved in oil.

Poly Suga®Mulse D6 is a PEG-free, nonionic emulsifier made from 100% bio-based raw materials. It is mostly hydrophilic, dispersible in water, and soluble in varying degrees in organic liquids. Poly Suga®Mulse D6 is used for oil-in-water (O/W) emulsification and disrpersion of fragrances and all types of oils. It is compatible with nonionic, cationic, and anionic ingredients and is effective in systems with relatively high levels of electrolyte, acid, or base. Poly Suga®Mulse D6 may also be used as a primary or co-emulsifier in the formulation of creams and lotions. Poly Suga®Mulse D6 is a clear yellow liquid with a mild odor.

Suga®Citrate L1C is the newest generation natural surfactant, meeting all the demands of today’s consumer. It is an extremely low-irritation anionic surfactant derived entirely from renewable plant sources. SugaCitrate L1C functionalized alkyl polyglucosides deliver many highly desirable product features. Luxurious cleansers with excellent foam, rich viscosity, and low irritation are easily achievable.

What is a naturally derived surfactant?

In the surfactant family, we have solubilizers, emulsifiers, dispersants or foaming agents. In all cases, they allow reducing of the energy required to create a surface between two materials having the same state or not (liquid, gas, solid). It is a molecule with hydrophilic and lipophilic parts which help dissolve poorly soluble substances in a solvent like fragrance or essential oil in a water-based formulation as a solubilizer or allow to disperse and stabilize drop of liquid in other non-miscible liquid like an emulsifier. We offer two kinds of bio-based surfactants: Naturally-derived surfactant is composed of hydrophilic part derived from sugar (corn or beet) like EcoSenseTM series (AlkylPolyGlucoside), Poly Suga®Mulse D9, amino acids like glutamate, glucose and sulfonates like Poly Suga®Nate 160P NC or combination of choline, phosphate, and glycerol like lecithin and Emultop™ Velvet IP and lipophilic part generally derived from fatty acid of vegetable oil. They are obtained by chemical reaction or extraction.

Biosurfactants like EcoSenseTM GL-60 series (Sophorolipid) are obtained by bio-fermentation involving bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi. They transform basic substrates like sugar, a fatty acid into complex raw materials thanks to their metabolism.
